Caterham: 50 lay-offs and Alexander Rossi out

The new owners of Caterham F1 have begun to make changes at the team. Yesterday 50 people from the technical department have been laid off.

Today it was the turn for the drivers, with the American Alexander Rossi, who was attending the Friday practice and competing in GP2, saying goodbye in his twitter account.

He has already found a seat in GP2 in the Campos Racing Team:

Alexander Rossi replaces Sato at Hockenheim

The coincidence of the GP2 event at Hockenheim and the Auto GP one at Red Bull Ring, a championship where Sato is the leader, has meant that the Japanese driver will miss the German round. Campos Racing has reached an agreement with Alexander Rossi for this round.

Campos Racing will have a new driver at Hockenheim, next stop for the GP2 series taking place next weekend. An agreement has been reached between the Spanish outfit and the American-born driver Alexander Rossi, and thus Rossi will replace Kimiya Sato – in his first season in the series- at the wheel of one of the Campos Racing cars.

His absence is due to dates clash, because both GP2 and Auto GP meetings take place next weekend. Taking into account Sato leads the Auto GP championship his working environment has decided to choose competing at the Red Bull Ring instead.

Rossi, born on September 25, 1991 in Auburn (California, USA), already knows what is to win in the GP2 Series.
